Who we are
Goggo’s Gallery is a small shop in Mississauga, Ontario, where we make personalized gifts by hand. This page explains, in plain words, what we do with your personal information.
The easiest way to reach us is a message on Instagram: @goggos.gallery. Use it for any question about this page too.
What we collect
We only ask for what we need. Nothing is paid on our site, so we never collect card numbers here.
- When you place an order: your first and last name, and, if you choose, your phone number and your Instagram or Facebook name. We also keep what you picked for each piece, the name or words you want on it, any notes you write, and any reference photos you add.
- Your Goggo’s card: your name, your phone number, your Instagram name if you gave it, your card number and your points history. If you give a phone number when you order, we set this up then, even before you have a card. If you say yes to texts about offers, we also write down when you said it.
- Reviews: if you review a piece you picked up, we keep your star rating, the name you choose to show, what you write, and a photo if you add one. We also keep which order it came from. A review only appears on our site after we approve it, and then it shows your rating, name, words, photo and the date. Please don’t put anything private in it.
- Technical details: when you place an order, add a photo, write a review or open a card link, we keep a scrambled version of your internet address (a “hash”), not the address itself. We use it only to stop abuse, such as someone sending hundreds of orders. The scrambled version saved with an order stays with that order. Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps its own technical logs of visits.
When you send your order to us on Instagram, Instagram handles that message under its own privacy rules.
How we use it
- To make your order and get it to you, by pickup or delivery.
- To reach you about your order, usually in the Instagram message.
- To keep your Goggo’s card, points and past orders.
- To show reviews you chose to write, after we approve them.
- To protect the shop from abuse.
We never sell or rent your information. We don’t add ads, analytics or tracking tools to our site.
Cookies and browser storage
We only use what the site needs to work. None of it is for ads or tracking.
- Language (a cookie called gg_locale, 1 year): remembers whether you read us in English or Arabic.
- Order ticket (a cookie called gg_guest, 2 hours): set when you first add a photo or place an order. It helps us tell real visitors from bots and keep the limits above.
- Card sign-in (a cookie called gg_customer, 1 year): set only when you open your Goggo’s card link. It keeps your card open in that browser. “Remove my card from this device” on your profile clears it.
- Kept on your device only (browser storage, not cookies): your bag (gg_bag), the name and contact details you gave (gg_contact), the orders you placed from this browser (gg_orders), which tips you have already seen (gg_tours), and when your order ticket ends (gg_guest_until, gone when you close the tab). We only receive your contact details and order codes when you place or check an order.
You can clear all of this in your browser settings. The site still works afterwards, but your bag and saved details will be gone.
Messages and texts
Messages about your order, like confirming the price or the ready date, are not advertising. We send those in the Instagram message, or by WhatsApp or Messenger if you used those.
We don’t send promotional texts or messages today. If we ever do, it will be only after you say yes. Each message will say who it is from and how to stop, you can stop any time by telling us, and we write down when you said yes.
Where it is kept
Our site, its database and your photos are kept with Cloudflare. Reference photos are private: they are not shown on the site, and only the people who run the shop can open them. Orders and customer details can also only be seen by the people who run the shop.
Cloudflare’s servers may be outside Canada, so your information may be handled under the laws of another country.
How long we keep it
- Reference photos that never reached an order: deleted after 7 days.
- Reference photos on an order: kept while we work on it, then deleted 90 days after the order is finished or cancelled, or sooner if you ask us.
- Order records (what you chose, the name and phone number you gave, any other contact details, and the final price): we keep these.
- Goggo’s card details: kept until you ask us to delete them.
- The counters we use to stop abuse: cleared out daily.
Your choices
You can ask to see what we have about you, fix it, or delete it. You can also take back a yes to texts. Just message us on Instagram. We may ask for your order number or card number to make sure it’s you, and we’ll answer within 48 hours.
If you ask us to delete your Goggo’s card details, we remove your name, phone number, Instagram name and points history, and your card stops working. Your past orders stay in our records, but they are no longer linked to you or a card. They still show the name and phone number you gave when you ordered.
On your own device, you can use “Remove my card from this device” on your profile, or clear your browser’s site data.
Who is responsible
The shop owner is responsible for the personal information we hold and for following this policy. To reach the owner, message us on Instagram: @goggos.gallery. This is the same for customers in Quebec.
If we can’t settle a concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes to this policy
If we change this page, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects something you agreed to, we’ll ask you again.
